Job Description

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Conducts physical therapy evaluations and conducts prescribed physical therapy programs to assist patient participation in tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance physical performance and facilitate learning of skills essential for adaptation of an altered lifestyle. The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for working with other health professionals in achieving goals related to meeting the individual's maximum functional abilities following a life altering illness or disability.

Job Requirements

  1. EDUCATION - TRAINING – EXPERIENCE
    1. Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program.
    2. Licensed as a physical therapist in the State of Louisiana. 
  2. LICENSE(S), CERTIFICATION(S), REGISTRATION(S), ACCREDITATION(S)
    1. CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire
  3. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    1. Medium to heavy work in lifting and supporting of patients.
    2. Walking and standing for long periods of time.
    3. Agile enough to allow for easy movement of patients during treatment.
    4. May be exposed to blood and body fluids, contaminated open wounds, various flammable chemicals, adhesives and electrical equipment in providing patient care.
